Your Consultation
As botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine, a face-to-face consultation with a prescriber (myself) is required before any treatment can take place.
During this consultation, we will carry out a full assessment of your concerns, medical history, and treatment goals. It is also an opportunity to discuss the expected results, answer any questions you may have, and ensure the treatment is both safe and appropriate for you.

Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine used in aesthetics to temporarily relax specific muscles. This reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and, when applied strategically, can also lift and rebalance facial features.
What is botulinum toxin?
FAQ's
The treatment works by blocking the signals between nerves and targeted muscles. This prevents the muscle from contracting as strongly, softening existing lines and helping to prevent new ones from forming.
How does it work?
Common areas include forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, and the brow area for a subtle lift. It can also be used for the jawline, chin, neck (Nefertiti lift), and masseter muscles. Medical and advanced uses include treatment for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), gummy smile, and lip enhancement with a “lip flip”.
Which areas can be treated?
Results usually last around 3–4 months, although this may vary depending on the individual and the area treated. Some treatments, such as masseter reduction or hyperhidrosis, may last significantly longer
How long do results last?
Initial effects can usually be noticed within 3–5 days, with full results visible at around 2 weeks.
When will I see results?
When performed by a qualified medical professional, botulinum toxin is considered a safe treatment with a long history of use. As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks, which will be discussed in detail during your consultation.
Is the treatment safe?
Yes. My approach is to create subtle, natural results that enhance your features rather than change how you look. The aim is for you to look refreshed and well-rested, not “frozen”.
Will it look natural?
Treatment is usually very well tolerated. The injections are carried out with fine needles and may cause only mild, momentary discomfort.
Does it hurt?
Yes. As botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine, a face-to-face consultation with myself as the prescriber is required before treatment. This ensures suitability, safety, and allows time to discuss your goals.
Do I need a consultation first?
Most people can resume normal daily activities immediately. You may experience slight redness or small bumps at the injection sites, which typically settle within a few hours.
Is there any downtime?
Remain upright – avoid lying flat or bending forwards excessively.
Gently move the treated muscles (such as frowning, raising your brows, smiling) to help the product disperse.
Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated areas.
For the first 4–6 hours
Do not take part in strenuous exercise, use saunas, steam rooms, or hot tubs
Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine
Refrain from facials, massages, or any treatment that applies pressure to the face
For the first 24 hours
Aftercare Guidance
To ensure the best results and minimise side effects, please follow the guidance below after your treatment:
Avoid eyebrow treatments such as waxing, tinting, lamination, or threading, as these can put unnecessary pressure on the treated areas.
Do not wear tight headbands, hats, or goggles that could press on the injection sites.
For the first 48 hours
Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds, as heat can increase swelling and bruising. If you are outdoors, apply a high-factor SPF and wear a hat for protection.
Delay any skin treatments such as peels, microdermabrasion, or microneedling until after your review appointment.
For the first week
Mild swelling, redness, or small bruises at the injection sites are normal and usually settle quickly.
Results start to appear within 3–5 days, with full effect visible around 2 weeks.
A review appointment may be offered at 2–3 weeks to assess results and make any adjustments if needed.
